Practical Cyber Security

Primary tabs

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Ken Brown will lead an informational discussion about practical applications of security in the technical age. Topics will include:

• A brief dive into generally how computer security works.
• An awakening to the reality that no system is completely secure.
• How you can best protect yourself regardless of the inescapable flaws.

The session will begin with a presentation of the above topics, but with ample time for Q&A both during that presentation time and afterward so that we may all improve our digital safety through shared learning. For those who want to take steps beyond the discussion, some simple homework will be assigned for which Ken will be happy to assist folks in achieving the goals of said homework.

Ken Brown is a member of the Jefferson Center Board and oversees development and live operations for a mobile game with downloads numbering in the hundreds of millions. He is also delighted to spend his home life with his wife, son, and two very demanding cats.
