Round, Round Get Around, I get around……….or……….Can I?

Imagine that you are a single mother with a sick child or a retired person living alone and you need to go shopping for food or, worse yet, to a doctor.  But, wait…your car is sitting outside the house on the curb with a dead battery!!  Time is running out. How will you get there?  Can you take a bus?  How often does it run?  Does it even run this day and time?   Can you walk all the way to the nearest bus stop with a walker or a sick child? What about a taxi or an Uber or Lyft?  But can you afford the cost? What to do?
How would you live your life with no car? Some of us are already experiencing this, and all of us might.  How would you get around?  Are you still going to be able to ride a bike? What would you need from friends, neighbors, and the government in order to get around from town to town?
Please join us to discuss these and other issues around transportation in our lives with other Jefferson Center members in one of our famous roundtables facilitated by members or the Jefferson center Program Committee.
This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Please contact Joseph Graf (graf@sou.edu) for more information or with questions.
