Salon: The End of Life without God

Primary tabs

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

“The End of Life without God” will be the Salon topic. In a group exploration, facilitated by members Diana Spade and Richard LeVitt, all participants will be able to share their personal views on facing the end of life as a secular person.

Religious institutions derive much of their support from their ability to offer comfort and structure to people facing an end of life experience, either themselves or a friend or family member. Witness the key role religious institutions played in the aftermath of the recent school shooting tragedy in Connecticut. Christianity offers the comfort of a promised afterlife. What comforts can non-religious philosophies and organizations offer? What thoughts sustain you in lieu of a traditional faith? Please come and share your perspectives.
