Brain Books grp discusses: "Mistakes were Made (but not by me)" by Carol Tavris

Primary tabs

Date:
Tuesday, May 23, 2017 - 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Brain Books has decided to read (or re-read, for some of us), Carol Tavris's book Mistakes were Made (but not by me): Why we Justify Foolish Beliefs, Bad Decisions, and Hurtful Acts (2007). Tavris and her co-author Elliot Aronson show that when confronted with cognitive dissonance, humans tend to self-justify rather than admit error and change. This book discussion group meets on the fourth Tuesday, 1:30-3:30, in the Ashland Public Library. All are welcome. The Jefferson Center brought Tavris to Ashland as a distinguished speaker a few years ago.
