Phishing for Phools: The Economics of Manipulation and Deception Deception by George Akerlof and Robert Shiller (2015). Authors accept that free markets have many benefits, but also some problems, especially the incentive given to sellers to exploit people’s psychological weaknesses and ignorance through manipulation and deception. Stories of some lives forced to “quiet desperation,” but also suggests how to resist economic trickery.
